do the kx 85's and 100's use the same cylinder bore and different length cranks? i guess what im trying to ask is if i put a kx100 head on a kx85 will it give me the extra 15cc displacement?

You will have to swap out the head and cylinder both, not just the head. The bottom end of the two engines are identical.
