I think the 1993 Kx 125 (blue one's) are 43mm? Is this correct? I found a used set of 93 kx 125 forks. My question is, since they are 43mm, and the stock one's are 43mm, would the Kx forks just slide right up in the KDX triple clamps? And how much of an improvement would this be over stock?
Thanks
So many people seem to misunderstand this. Like TimberPig said, the most important thing is where the clamps clamp. USD forks are clamped onto the outer tubes, which are much larger than 43mm to allow the 43mm inner tube to slide up into them.
bigboyeatburgers, Answer (Pro Taper) used to make an aftermarket billet clamp for the 1993 and 1994 KDX200. Keep a close eye on e-Bay. I have seen a couple on there over the years.
less flex but thats like tring to make a strainer carry water by putting scotch tape on it.
no I am not a wize crack, I have a 2000 220 and have had the oem forks re valved and sprung, they worked fine exept for big hits and the under hang slap down.
converted to 98 kx forks resprung for my weight the did some shim stack re arangement and they worked ok. then had the forks and the shock re valved by pro action, BAMMM!!! pure magic. 600 invested in suspension. well worth it.
