This is my first post on the forum and I am hoping this group of experts can help me out. I have been rebuilding 1993 KX250 for the past year that was on its last leg. It has been a great deal of fun after being away from 2-strokes for many years. Unfortunately, after all of this work, the frustration has set in. I have got the bike started once but it was very difficult. The top end is new, carb is new and includes Boyensen power reeds. The entire bike has been gone over from the ground up. The problem is that the plug gets soaked with gas after one or two kicks trying to start it. Fuel mix is 40:1 and the plug BR7ES. Spark is good and I was told from the carb supplier that the pilot jet is to large. I have rechecked the float level and everything appears good. Boyensen suggested #50 pilot and #155 main. Carb supplier suggested reducing pilot down and I ordered a #40 and #45 to try. My leg is falling off at this point and don't know what to try next. I would appreciate any ideas!!!
