kxf250 vs. yzf250

my dad is considering the kxf250 and the yzf250. honda is an optional but definetly not a ktm or suzuki. again, youve all heard this, but hes 6' even, 185lbs., and 31 y/o. hes ridden my kx 125 at TNT for about 45 min. he had a kawasaki 2-stroke 175 when he was 14(i cant remember the name). but, that was his last bike. hes looking for a 04' or 05' used. hes planning on spending $2500-$4500. im not sure what brand hes leaning to, but definetly a kawi or yamaha. thanks for any replies.

Aren't the KXF and RMZ the same bike - i.e. designed together by both companies?

Everything I've seen on here would have me think he should get the YZF.

The 04-05 KXF has motor issues. Go with the YZF. It's probably the most reliable bike from the 04-05 250F's.
