Just wondering if anyone has any input, tips, or tricks for these forks. I have converted my kdx with a 1993 (pretty sure) yz250 front end. The forks are 43mm KYB inverted forks. I haven't done anything much to them, just changed oil and seals. They were in incredibly good condition when they were given to me (Yep, freebie, the whole front end!)

The trick is if I set the compression high enough to prevent bottoming, the forks seem really harsh in the mid range. If I soften them enough to feel plush on the rough slow moving trails, they will bottom on any sort of larger jump. It's really not bad, the forks are a HUGE improvement over the stock KDX forks I was running.

I'm just wondering what anyone's thoughts were on these forks, and whether they are worth putting some money into tuning. Suspension is not my strong suit.....

julien,
you may want to run higher oil level to prevent bottoming. i am not sure what is the maximum amount for those forks though...
