The last man standing is suppose to be on speed TV next Sunday around 3:00. I think it is right before the supercross. I seen that last Sunday. The 1st couple of races are on speed TV also.

Red Bull Last Man Standing will be on at 3pm Dec 11 and 2pm on Dec 13 and 2am on Jan 6 and at 6pm on Jan 8th . Should be pretty cool to watch .I was one of the workers . I was doing milage for Mike on his section and went down in a creek not to far off of the start and came up to a 6 ft waterfall and about took my knee out it has finally stop hurting .I thought I wasn't going to be able to get out of the creek . I've rode out there for a long time and I have no plans of riding the trails they rode . It was some of the toughest trails I've ever seen . So it should be good to watch . Can't weight . :aj:

I seen some pictures on a web site after the race (or I would have been there). I should have been paying attention (too busy right now). I would not attempt some of what I saw in th epictures. Who cuts those trails? I cannot wait to see more.

The event was set up to let you see the nasty stuff at the spectator sections. After riding there the next weekend before they took all the arrows down, I can vouch that there is some super-technical stuff on the regular trail before you even get to the spectator sections.
I have conquered 'Tripple Threat' but have yet to talk Jim into letting me try 'Joshua Tree Hill' on one of his bikes :laugh:

Brian, as the Duke used to say: "That'll be the day, Pilgrim." By the way, I watched the LMS on Speed today, and a couple of comments: 1) The commentator has a nice voice, but he's lame and doesn't know anything about off-road riding. Let's get somebody better, please. 2) They never once mentioned the name of the park where the event was taking place. Have you ever seen a motocross broadcast that didn't tell the name of the track? That's lame. It's the Red River Motorcycle Trails. 3) When Kanney was interviewed and said that "Red Bull and whatever club it was that put this on did a good job," they should have edited in a comment that it was the Red River Dirt Riders. Other than that, it was pretty well done. I saw my sons and nephew on camera, briefly. Monk was on there at about 25 minutes into the program, waving to the camera like a rock star. And one final comment: Seeing it on screen, where the perspective is flattened so much, doesn't do justice to the challenging terrain and the incredible ability of those riders. You really had to be there, and I'm glad I was.
It's really fun seeing those goes racing in the same places that we've ridden so many times. Of course I wasn't going quite as fast, but it's fun just the same!
And you're right Jim; the screen doesn't do justice to some of the more extreme terrain. Although I did like the way they tried to show this at 'Texas Stadium' by pointing the camera straight down at the rider after they made the descent.

The footage really doesn't do justice for any of the big hills. You do know, however, that it must be bad if top-level riders like those guys are struggling like they are. There was some good loop-out footage.

No, I'm pretty sure they didn't show my face. If they had, I would have been beseiged by agents and movie producers trying to get me to sign big-money contracts to play the romantic lead opposite really sexy Hollywood starlets. And that hasn't happened yet, so I'm pretty sure I wasn't on camera. Someday, though.

I looked at Joshua Tree yesterday... WOW! This was my first time to truly ride the park and try out the Red Bull/Enduro trail - very impressive! It's odd, I can work both events and have no idea what anything else looks like other than my section.

You're kidding right? Dave Despain is one of the greatest moto commentators, if ever there was one. He's an avid on-road and off-road rider. As far as his knowledge of motor sports and motorcycles, I'm sure he's forgotten more than most of us will ever know. They got the right guy for the job, he just dumbed it down for the average viewer.

Captain: I've watched the thing a couple more times, and I guess I was a little harsh on Despain. I've never liked him, always thought he was corny and his voice sounds like a mediocre Top-40 DJ. But he wasn't all that bad here. He was obviously trying to do a Bruce Brown thing, but the script was lacking. Anyway, I'd give him a B-minus.
Regarding not naming the park: I doubt it was the Harrises' wish. I'll ask them.

I heard it.
I haven't had surgery yet. Scheduled for the 29th this month, but I may postpone. I hate to miss out on riding while son Mark is home from school. Maybe I'll do it in January. I'm good to go right now; the knee is 75 percent; it just gets hurt if I compress it too much, like when kicking a root. But I'm ready to ride. Thinking about riding Friday with my doctor friend, Rick, and his family. Can you make it? I'd like to do the Kiamichi before Jan. 8, when Mark has to go back to school. I asked Lewis, and he said they never told the Red Bull guys not to mention the name of the park. He did ask them not to call it "Muenster," because it's in Bulcher. "Muenster doesn't have anything to do with it," he said.
there is no way for me to get out of work for the next two weeks or so. just that way in the retail biz. i cant get away to ride until the 7th. i would be interested in going up there friday night and riding saturday the 7th. does mark leave on the 8th? we could drop him off at the airport in riding gear. i did get to go on an organized dual sport ride in west texas. terlingua/big bend ntl park. were the areas we rode. 320miles in two days. whew! unfortunately bad things happened. see the general forum and the recent post put in by tony e.
