first off we are talking about a 98 cr250r,mechanicly its stock
as far as i know, last sunday after a long day in the woods i washed my bike...with a pressure washer(1250 psi).on monday afternoon there was a big pudell underneath it.
do you think it was caused by the pressure washer or just an old shock/seals or both?-(i just replaced my front fork seals 2 weeks ago for the same thing)should i pay 700+ for a new shock or have mine rebuilt(im not going to attempt it)_thank you for your help_

I would suggest getting it rebuilt and put some fresh new oil in it. It's probably just because the seals were shot. So when she shop that you take it at rebuilds it, ask them to clean it and inspect just so there is no water or dirt still in there.

Try a better shop. Most any worthy shop should be able to rebuild it. If ya can't find a shop, cycle news or any dirt bike mag will have a ton of ads.

FYI, pressure washing is a motorcycles worst nightmare! Just say NO!

The only one I know of is Too Tech racing. They do all suspension work and the guy is REALLY cool! Google them

P.S.....he offered me a price of $280 to go over my forks and rear shock...new seals...oil fork springs.....and set the spring rates for my size and riding style. So I'm sure you'd get a good price for the rear shock work!
