:( Just looking for a reasonable rebuild kit or where a good shop is to send it off too.
My local shop here in Richmond wanted $175 just to split the case and I allready took the motor out. :|

I just got done doing the same. I used a Hot Rod kit because it was highly recommended. It ran me about $95.

Thats a lot of money for splitting the case. The puller would be a fraction of that. I split the case with an old puller that worked out ok then took the crank into the dealer to put the kit on. That was $60. Your probably going want to replace the seals and bearings while your there and along with the gasket kit the price gets up there.

I just read of a $150 cost at a reputable shop for splitting a kdx.

It's not cheap. As mstone says..while you're in there, it's kind of silly to NOT replace a bunch of other stuff.

Bummer.

case press & rod tool cost me $175 from kawi! I've used it many times, also you'll need a $25 flywheel puller too.
