Is it called for in the service manual?
I doubt it but it's possible.
If so then use what is called for.
If not then only properly torqued fasteners will be adequate.
What is properly torqued?
Refer to your service manual.
How do I properly torque the fastener?
Get a torque wrench and refer to the service manual.
What is a torque wrench?
Take it to a shop.

i see what you are saying, but right now i am paranoid because my dad is paying $500 bucks to bore the jug. why? nickel plating. they said they dont shave nickel plated jugs anymore. after all i did get a manual a while ago, but the manual is at the shop where we are rebuilding it. (it's a harley shop that one of my dads best friends own, and i am doing the work, while the friend is supervising me). anyways, i need to know if i need to pick up loctite to put on the head bolts, BUT i dont have my manual. :uh:

The shop should have it if the manual says you need it. It's a Harley shop after all and those thing vibrate like a 3 legged washing machine. So when you get ot the shop where your manual is you should be able to look and see if it's required and if so ask to use theirs. Simple.

OR you could by some just in case and take it back if it's not called for.
