I was out rattlin' cages today at Muenster.

You should see the excellent track TORO put together for us, definitely track of the year. Only bad thing is that the finishing ordered will probably be by displacement, exceptionally fast track. :aj:

I think the Pro's are expecting to be turning 20 minute lap times on a 12 mile loop. :yikes:

Oh boy, you've come to the right place. There is somebody posting about a ride or race around this forum just about every week. If you're interested in trying your hand at some racing, check out www.race-toro.org . There are several of us on here that race that series. If you want to ride during the week, get ahold of JMD and Enduro Nut, they're both self-employeed and ride at Muenster frequently during the week. Stan and his dad go to Muenster fairly often also, on the weekends mostly I believe. I know somebody on here mentioned going to Gilmer several times (it was the guy who's from Paris I think, you're sn is slippin my mind). I suppose all you really need to do is figure out when you want to go ride, then check this forum to see if somebody else already had the same idea and hook up with them, or post to let people know you're going... more often than not you'll find someone who's willing.

Yep, I'm the redneck from redneckville (Paris). Nice to meet you Monk. Kiamichi is fun but don't listen to them about the rocks. There's really not that many as they make it out to be. I'm guessing not more that 2 or 3 million per acre. Definately put the Sam Houston trip on the list. One of these days I'm going to make it back to Muenster and ride with you guys. Anyway, welcome to the forums.

No riding for me this weekend. I have to wrap up some posters for a convention next week and the plans for a church I am working on.

I am looking forward to riding at the ranch on 20th/21st. We have to cut the trails in the morning, but virgin trails are worth it! :nener:

Monk, there is a thread on a ride in Jan/Feb in the Sam Houston National Forest north of Houston. You need to put it on your dance card.

Regarding folks to watch for ... be wary of tarpaper if he shows up.

Stanley is a great guy, but he often brings his "Old Man" along. Don't let "dad" park his 525 by your truck. He has been known to dig a trench with his rear tire rather than put his kick stand down.

It is a ranch that my cousins own. 3000+ acres of virgin land. :)

We are cutting trails for mountain bikes and using :cough: :cough: dirt bikes to burn in the trails. ;) I am trying to get my cousins kids (mid 30's ~ early 40's) interested in bikes.

Hello again folks, I think the true count is right at 3.5 million rocks per acre. If you find some dirt to ride on there let me know, was thinking it would be a great area for those rock climbing trucks.

Have a question about this Muenster area you guys keep talking about. What are the trails like there? I ride alot of rock up this way and I am really tired of crashing on them. Was thinking about a trip that way when the weather up here gets to cold to ride. Can anyone give me an idea what it's like and where? Thanks folks........Lee

Muenster is sandy for the most part. Even the rocks are sandstone.

Muenster is a park rather than an area and the trails are well marked and well used. The Red River Dirt Riders are the home club for the park and there is a great deal of information under the Park and Terrain tab on the side of the page.

Watch for opportunities to hook up with fellow DRNers there. Although going into the hoilidays it usually slows a bit, there are usually members there at least every other weekend.

Guess that's why my 520 beat you (and everybody else) and your 426. Funny things was a Gas Gas 300 got 2nd.

It sounds like the folks I've ridden with in the past are going on this weekend. We went last year after the Muenster races. That place is transformed with the markers up.

I tend to get lost quite a bit (I like to keep a distance between me and the bike in front of me for a number of reasons), and Muenster kicks ass with all the little arrows and ribbons around.

These guys only go riding on Sundays, so if anybody's going, I'll try and find em.
