I saw a post about Magura styled levers, I heard of them before, what is so special about them, are they a hard to find lever for a specific kind of bike? Just curious
Magura levers are available just about anywhere. I know Dennis Kirk stocks lots of Magura stuff. Magura also makes hydraulic clutches, brake master cylinders, throttles. Magura is even into mountain bike brakes. As far as I can remember Magura always made high quality stuff. I'm not sure but I believe Magura was the inventor of the "dog leg" lever bend. This bend gave the right amount of leverage and also placed the lever within easy reach.
Keep in mind that when Magura got it's start, clutches were hard to pull and brakes were cable operated drum type. Both required considerable effort to operate--compared to modern stuff.

Yes you can find real Magura all over the place for about $15-18 a lever, but for us who race the old bikes, $10 for an knock off set is killer price. If you race your vintage bike you're going to go down and snap one, but for $5 a lever who cares.
