Has anyone ever tried and had any success using some sort of material to create cushions for bolting a primary gear to an aftermarket clutch basket?
I've seen some older threads here that lightly touched on the subject, but that's all. I have an extra Hinson basket, a backing plate and primary gear for a YZ85, but no cushions, and would rather not breakup an already fine stock setup.
I've contacted Hinson who says that they've been unable to find anyone to build these reliably and must resort to purchasing stock clutch baskets to sell the cushions and gear separately. This sounds amazing to me! ... I'd rather not pay $140 for an unnecessary kit, just for the cushions.
