Making dirtbike look like crotch rocket?

I recently saw a guy riding down the street on what appeared to be a crotch rocket. However when I passed him it was definatly a dirtbike. I would like to know where I could get a fairing kit or something of that nature to turn my DR350 into a almost looking crotch rocket.

Sounds like you are looking for more road race/full street bike look compared to SuperMoto.

FWIW, Roland Sands was turning MX 450's into road racers, withoutneeding that many modifications. Mostly lowering, fairings and new wheels/tires. Other stuff optional. Below is an article for more info. There are also some cool vids out there of his bikes on a road course.

Rich, I am not understanding these links. They seem to be fairings for motorcycles. I am looking for fairings mainly to put on my dirtbike to make it look like a motorcycle.

If you can't figure out those links I sent you then you'll never figure out how to accomplish what you described.

Maybe you should just ride the bike as it is.

Or perhaps add trainning wheels or switch to quads. Dude it is pretty simple click the links and READ.

Ok read a little bit more, sorry but I hate reading, and figured somebody could of simply just stated what this stuff was.

Now from my understanding all the frames are just frames of those bikes. EX. clicking on the suzuki models it has all the suzuki street bike fairings. I am guessing these are the fairings for those bikes that can be put on dirtbikes.

Now my other quesiton is the whole article is talking about converting 450s. I have a 350 so will it work on a 350?

I hate reading to, but the link that dirt bike dave listed tells you everything you need to know about your question. Also the 3 links that Rich listed show you where to buy the things you want...Just Takes a few minutes to read, but since thats to hard, I'll tell you...

What it says you would need is:
To change the suspension in your bike.
To Get 17 inch rims to accomidate road tires.
Oversized front brake kit.
And a few other changes..

Then you would have to get the road race body work, which on of the links that Rich listed brings you to a site that sells the stuff...

As far as if it will fit your bike, from what I read it looks like it's mainly made for 450's but also says might be able to make it work on other bikes, so you would have to talk to the manufacturer of the bodywork to know if it would fit your bike...

And for even more help for you, the last site Rich posted sells the fairing kits, you have to click on products and then at the bottom of this list that comes up you have to click on other bikes, then it will show you the 450 fairing kits...

Thanks nova. And to you rich.... I read all that stuff. Before I read it I asked those simple questions. I understand everything that needs to be done.

And just to prove I have some ambition, this is why I think it could work on my 350.

How about you answer a few questions (minimal reading required).
How much did you pay to ask your question?
How much did you pay to see the answer?
Any answer that points you in the right direction seems to be a pretty good return on what you paid.

BTW it's not the first and I'm sure not the last any mod has been called a name hopefully you feel better now, I'm sure Rich lost a nights sleep over it :laugh:
