I just wanted to know what personal experiences you've had with these 2 oil additives. Which worked which didn't. Thanks for all comments.

Mystery oil

My 1970 T100c Triumph was left leaning against the side of a building by the previous owner with no sparkplugs.

I filled the cylinders up with Mystery oil and would rock her back and forth in gear every few days until I figured that she was ready.

Took a torch and warmed the barrel up and she came apart.

Bore job, pistons and rings and she's good as new. :)

MMO, I used it to soften the seals in a tractor lift. Got the hydra fluid warm, added a gallon MMO and worked the tractor for about 30 min. It has about a drop a day compared to a quart a day. Good stuff. Engine restore...well...you'd be better off spending your money on a rebuild kit.

I used it

I used Marvel Oil on a 1983 ATC185...

It had been frozen for almost 2 years sitting in this garage, with no spark plug in it.

I dumped some in there and let it sit for a week... Hooked it up to the back of another ATV and broke it loose.

I think it is truly great stuff. Engine Restore, is garbage. Anything that promises a new engine from bottle is junk, as far as I am concerned.

"Mechanic-in-a-can" type products like Engine Restore are a waste of money.

Marvel Mystery Oil is great stuff, however. I use it for assembly lube when building an engine.

Another vote for Marvel Mystery Oil. Great stuff for certain applications. It has a very high flash point, as jamsxr found out he could heat the jug.
I used it years ago on a few conveyor chain applications, but that was before I was skewled reel gud on what the proper oils for that were. :D

It was designed to be a top end lubricant. Perfect for the application spanky stated.

Re: Engine Restore.

The only way that can will benefit you is if you pop the top and find a wrench in there.;)
