Mixing gear oil and ATF

Hi there

The oil that i have just purchased is a 15W40 which is too thicke for my cr125. i was wondering weather it is safe to mix the 15W40 with ordinary ATF (Dexron not TYPE F) for the tranny ?????.

Is it safe for my bike ???

Not sure about the dexron but i have mixed type f and 15w40 plenty of times.

I used to run straight Type F in my 2 strokes with zero problems.

No the dexron has friction modifiers in it that may cause clutch slippage in a wet clutch system.

I wouldn't mix fliuds like that... how do you tell viscosity???
