It was cool to hear the riders talking about the crowd at the Mile. It was crowded beyond belief and the riders were revved up about it. One of the guys in our group has a friend who rode in the Pro Expert Twin class and he said he had never seen a crowd like this. The place was jumping.
I'm convinced if they could get Flat Track on TV regularly and cover it correctly that crowds like Indy would be the norm. Having spent my formative years pressed up against the fence at Santa Fe watching Roberts, Springsteen, Poovey and the rest, the Indy Mile felt like a homecoming. It was fantastic.
