Motor rebuild help

I can't figure out how to remove this piece off of the motor, was wondering if someone knows how to?

The piece has two magnets on opposite ends and had coils around it, I removed the coils but cannot get the magnetic part off. I think its the stator but I am unsure.

Just a suggestion, but next time you decide to tear into your engine like this, it's a really good idea to give it a good cleaning before taking it apart.

It's much easier to work on when clean.

Also, get a service manual. It will help you identify all those mysterious parts, like the flywheel.
