Who all is riding it this year? As of right now, I'm on the fence. If it doesn't rain any more until the race, it should be alright, but I don't see that happening. Does anyone know if Darrel has signed up yet? We were both going to sign up on the same minute so he could keep time and miles, and I could just tag along. Wish I had an odometer... I guess I need to decide and sign up soon so I can choose my minute. Anyone else game?

Brian, you don't need to keep time. Generally, if you just ride as fast as you can, you'll still be late to most checks. They will try to burn you once or twice, but if you see guys on your minute sitting and waiting along the trail, don't pass them, and you won't burn the check. Anyway, burning a check is not what you need to worry about. They set the schedule pretty fast so that the fast guys don't get bored, and then they throw in resets and free periods to get the C riders back on schedule, so they can begin falling behind again.

I'm not sure whether I'll ride it or not. I'm committed to riding as much as I can with my son, and he can't ride the enduro yet. Maybe he and I will ride Saturday and I'll do the enduro Sunday. We'll see. But I would encourage you to do the event; you will absolutely love it, and you'll do very well. Go for it, Stan the Man.

I'm planning on heading down and signing up on Sunday AM. Haven't heard if anyone else from the Heartland Spodes will be making it. I usually get on a late row to stay out of everyone's way, and not have to wait as long for the sweep crew to get me out...

Craig, if I ride the event, that's what I'll do: get a late row. Even though it gets a little rutted out by then, it's more fun than getting passed the whole way around by the A and B riders (and most of the Cs, too, along with the women, children, and some pedestrian spectators).

Darrel has not signed up YET but he is coming(per our conversation on Moday) and Tate is also riding the s.s. course. I will hook you up with Adam - this is his 1st enduro also.

Do Not worry about time... go for a ride, set a pace and see if you like it.

Darrel and I had planned on signing up on an early minute. If there will be bottlenecks(and I predict there will) I want to be the one causing it, not getting stuck in it! We are planning on riding this Saturday. I wonder what Darrel thought of his motorcycle hanging from a tree?

Good decision - if it rains you need to be upfront(Hint!). What tree... fill me in?!

Craig - If you want to come down earlier you are welcome to stay with us.

Last time we went riding, Darrel had to leave mid-afternoon for a, er, meeting. He left his bike and trailer there and planned on coming back later that night to camp out and ride the next day. Jim, Dad, and I left around 7:00 and thought it would be funny to hang his 300 from a tree with the tie-downs he left with his trailer. I haven't seen him since

I forgot to mention... I was at North Texas Yamaha/Suzuki the other day and they have several 18" and one 19" Dunlop 756 rear tires for $47. If anyone wants one I can pick you up one. They aren't the greatest tire out there, but I thought that price was hard to beat.

Aren't the best tire? Are you kidding? That's practically all I'll run. I would love to try an S-12 but I tear up tires too easily. I'm running a Kenda Millville right now, it's only ok. Better than the Pirelli that I had for a while.

Yall should try and make it to the TORO race up at Muenster if you're not going to the enduro, or if you're interested in a good time. TORO is pretty tame, with dead engine starts, but lots of fun. The race at Muenster is always one of the best too.

Brian, why don't you and your dad come up to the Kiamichi with Gene, Harley and me Saturday? You'd like the riding up there, and it's really not much farther than Muenster.

Grady:

Takes just under three hours. We go to Talimena State Park and ride right out of the park. If you Mapquest the directions, it will give you a long route, for some reason. I drive Harley's route, which saves about 20 miles. Let me know. We could go up together. Harley's going to be there, with Jody, Jared, and three other friends. Gene and I are planning to go up tomorrow morning, early. By the way, when I call your cell phone, I get a message from someone who calls himself Brandon. Can you give me the correct number? Call my cell.

Charlie, welcome back. Do you want to ride Saturday? Gene and I are going up to the Kiamichi Mountains tomorrow, and maybe Grady and Brian also, if Brian isn't too sick to go. There will be about five other guys up there, guys who know their way around well. There are miles and miles of trails up there; pretty good stuff. Call me if you want to go, (214) 437-9187.

We are actually just going to ride Muenster tomorrow. Maybe we'll go with you guys to the Kiamichi next time. I'd really like to go, but not at the last minute like this. It's also a little far for us to go just for the day;maybe we'll ride Saturday and Sunday when we go. Have fun, though, and maybe we'll see you at the enduro.

Hay sounds like fun . Except one thing . I just read it today Sunday morning . I helped Roger Saturday putting up arrows and ribbon for the race coming up Saturday .Didn't get to ride much but I've been on trails that I haven't been on before . We were working on the grass tracks . Looks like it will be a blast .

.

I guarantee you'll rip a Dunlop to pieces before that S-12 starts to chunk. The Michelins have excellent wear and the only time I don't use them is when I find Dunlops at half-price.
