I had a short day. Showed up about 2 p.m., but had three great hours of riding with Darrell and Lust and Dave Hart. We rode some great trails and got into a nice rhythm. David showed me Root Canal, a super-nasty section on Iron Mountain from the Last Man Standing. Hardest section on the course; even Knight needed help from Cooper to get up the last rock ledge. It's really scary; looks like a broken neck waiting to happen. Anyway, it was a great day -- beautiful weather, good traction, no wind.
I'll be riding somewhere Saturday. I'm hoping one of my sons and a daughter will be coming. If so, it's probably Barnwell. If my daughter doesn't come, it would be great to join some guys at CrossBar Ranch.
Man I *almost* didn't get to ride....
10 minutes into it and the plug that Yamaha put in the cylinder head to cover the place where the decompression thingamabob once was shot out on my bike. It was spraying oil on my exhaust pipe. No, I didn't bring a spare...
I had to McGuyver a new plug since the old one was MIA. It was a stroke of pure luck combined with a little bit of genius that I was able to fashion something together. I made a compression plug out of some rubber thing that the guy that was riding with me just happened to find. I will post a pic when I get home.
FWIW, I need to order some of those aluminum plugs that are held in with the 10mm bolt, that way I won't have to worry about that crap again.

I used a small bolt, some washers, and a nut from your Dad's tool box to compress the plug so it would stay in, then I safety wired it in for a good measure. It saved the day!
