Music downloading - best pay site?

My ISP has installed a filter so that I can no longer download music from Limewire, WinMX, and the other peer-to-peer services. So, my question is where is the best site to pay to download music? My roommate has been using Napster, but there has to be someplace cheaper than $1 a song. Anyone use imusicshare.com or Yahoo! music? Any suggestions for the best place to go? Thanks

I use Apple itunes...I LOVE IT!

The program is great because not only can you search and download tons of songs for $0.99/each, but you can download whole CD's for $9.99 and sometimes less than that...

You can also rip your own CD's and burn them within that program, create all kinds of playlists, and it's the program that's compatible with an ipod if you have one of those!

I love it 'til I want to put that music on another machine. What a pain in the butt. I realize they are trying to keep people from trading songs and all that crap, but I OWN the music, and I OWN both machines.

I want to fight them.

I have been using this site for the past few months. Great selection and pricing…….about one tenth the cost of I-tunes. Also, you can select just about any format or quality level you desire. It was written up in the Wall Street Journal as one of the better “pay as you go” sites.

Granted many of you know more about 'puters than I do, but I agree with Pred. I hate itunes. And I'd tell you why but the forums here have a block on curse words so it'd be tough for me to really make my point.
