Hey guys,

I thought I would share a couple of shots I did at my first ever photo shoot from last summer. Just so happens this young kid just won 3 titles at the World Mini's in Vegas. Way to go Cole :)

Whoever did those graphics is amazing. That bike is CLEAN. I just put new graphics on my bike and for the life of me I couldn't seem to get the fork guard graphics right!

How wide is the lens in the 2nd shot? It looks great with the stopped action of the bike and foreground with the motion blur background was any of that effect done in post?

That first one looks exactly like the Zach Osborne 2008 Yamaha Poster that I have on my wall right next me. Amazing shots.

Another set of great photos of a great racer! I like the second one, that kid is almost bottoming railing that corner.

Thanks everyone. I had a really good day at this shoot. There were actually 2 riders I was shooting that day and the other kid ended up with a 3 or 4 page article in the mag.

As for the info on the shots...Both were with my 5D and 17-40 lit wit a 580 and 420 that were off camera and fired remotely with my 580II on camera set to not affect the exposure. None of the blur in the 2nd shot was done in post, but was just shot with a slow shutter speed.

Great stuff Squid. I have a complaint tho. After looking at these shots, mine look like mud. My photography is at a level similar to sitting on the bike in the garage and making motorcycle sounds...

One day, I hope to get off the kickstand.

Yea thats Cole Thompson, you should see him rip big bikes, he rides a CR125 and CRF250 up here in Ontario for CMRC in intermediate, very fast! Has such a nice style..
