My KDX 250 front light is dim. I replaced the lightbulb and checked out the elctrical wiring. When I rev-up my engine, the light gets brighter. What does this mean? What do I need to do to get a bright front light so I can ride in the dark? Suggestions. I would like to repair the light problem without taking it to the shop. Thanks

Mine is dim until it's revved up as well. It's supposed to be that way I'm sure. Kawasaki's version of a Hi-Lo beam.:D

I ride mine at night all the time with no problems.

Silly question time.

Have you checked the bulb is std issue? Many people put in a car bulb & the puny alternator cannot run it. The alternator will put out very little power at idle, Without a battery the bulb will go dim.

Yam Blasters & other such horrible 4 wheelers, run Halogen 12V bulbs of about 35W from memory, or was it 25W?

You can get specialist firms to rewind alternators for more output.
