Motorcycle Coolant: Look for on the label: "silicate, phosphate, and borate free". "Safe for aluminum" is not enough.

Texaco/GM Dex-Cool (Walmart) is what i use mixed with distilled water.

I wouldn't add a different type to it. You should change that stuff out at least on a yearly bases. Its as easy as changing oil and the thing doesn't hold much anyway. Just drain it and put some new stuff in there.

re: '...mix with..'

DO mix it. General mix ratio is 50/50. Using 100% antifreeze isn't doing you any favors. The other way 'round, actually. It doesn't have as effective heat transfer properties as water, so the higher ratio af/water you use, the less heat it will get rid of.

That's why there's 'moose-juice' and such.

kdx: Thanks for the reminder. It's time to change mine!

Do you remember a thread from a while ago where the author (Sage I think) suggested using Toyota brand antifreeze as it is more aluminum freindly and used by Factory Kawasaki road racers? Or maybe it was just a dream; I got to remember to stop getting old :yeehaw:
