Need a little help.

I have a friend who got in a little situation in windrock with me and 2 buds of mine. and it seemed to have scared him off of his cr125 and hes thinking about getting a four wheeler :bang:

You see we were stuck in pitch dark dehydrated and overheated when he ran out of gas and thankfully a rig came by and we bunjeed it onto that and then made it back to the truck.
somehow it scared him @#$%less and now hes gonna sell his bike.

What do i do to get him to realize that 4 wheelers are not the answer to dirtbike problems?

Ya, this makes perfect sense because 4-wheelers never run out of gas. :think: :rotfl:

I'd rather have my bike run out of gas then my 4 wheeler anyways, easier to push ;)

This thread is so unblievable its buggin the hell out of me. here are the three option I see for him selling his bike.
1.# I'm scared because I was over heated and might not ever get another drink of water and death is certain,
2.# Its dark and I'm afraid of the dark so death is certain or
3.# Im out of gas, I'm thristy as all hell, its dark and I never really liked riding dirt bikes anyway.

I hate to say it but #3 seems to be the one that fits the situation, its sounds stupid right?

I could see if the guy wrecked and hurt himself. I just about broke my foot one day on my bike, locked up the rear at 20mph and went under it kinda.. for a few seconds as I was picking up the bike I was thinking "What did I get myself into?" But that went after as soon as I jumped back on and kept going. But just because I ran out of gas? I couldn't really get scared of dirt biking for that. Dirt biking in the middle of the desert, 100miles away from anyone would scare me, but just of dirt biking that far away from civilization.

I got myself in to a similar situation a few years ago. Bike crapped out and I had no water, it was an August day in central Texas which means it was about 110F and I was a looooong way from my truck. Did I add that I was riding alone? What did I figure out? I sucked the sweat from my jersey to stay hydrated and that taught me to NEVER go ride without my hydration pack or to ride alone again becuase it might really be the last. I also learned that you do stupid things like shut the gas off when you are dehydrated and that it's nobody's fault. I also learned that same summer that you can get run over by a car when riding a mountian bike a lot easier than having dirt bike problems.

If your friend is looking to not ride there will be other chances for him to bail out down the road. The question is do you really want to be stuck in the dark without anything to drink and have somebody crying they they knew they should have quit riding last time? Or do you want to having riding buddies that want to band together and come up with a plan to get out alive?

Those thoughts probably go through a lot of peoples minds but if you panic you just make the situation worse 10 fold

Quads aren't safer than bikes. Eight of the nine (not including the three dune buggy deaths) OHV deaths in Utah this year were on quads. The remaining one was on a bike.

Its too late. I tried. We all tried, but it was just too late.
Hes gone quad and theres nothing we can do about it.

He seems to like it though. Lets hope it stays that way and he doesnt wreck it and move to a Jeep.

Lets see, how do you say this, quads suck, most of the time, but some times they don't. They will beat the crap out of you when you try to ride them at speed, compared to a bike.

LOL, you are right that you better hope he doesn't move to a Jeep. I can hear it now . . . "At least if I'm in a Jeep I have a rollbar if I roll it over!" I have a Jeep Wrangler and that's what I used to do all my offroading in (not because I wrecked a quad or bike though). I thought it was the greatest offroader ever until I got my bike and now even though I'm a novice I'm going places that my Jeep with $5,000 worth of mods couldn't think about getting to. Screw my Jeep now, I think. Thinking about trading it for a newer truck (got an 85 Toyota now) so I can haul my bike around in. :p
