So I guess a broken bone is immediately a ride back home? Do they pay for the transportation in that case (I thought seeing this when surfing for insurances)?
Would depend on the severity of the injury. They paid to fly my son and wife home from Oklahoma as there was no way possible he could travel 20+ hours in an RV with his injury. My Aunt had a heart issue a few years back while in Florida and they had her checked at a hospital in Florida and even though they felt it was an isolated incident she had to return to Canada and get a clean bill of health from the Doc's before they would cover her to return to the USA. In her case they paid to fly her and my uncle back and to get their vehicle returned to Canada.
Not sure how socialized medicine is the issue here? Would the correct question not be isn't insurance great?
None of our issues had anything to do with our Medical system in Canada. They were all about the insurance company who insures you while you travel. Likely the same for any of you folks south of the 49th who leave your country.
i agree with Gomer and FD, come check out the Carolina's for a while. Truespode, Gomer, and I visit TNT in northern SC( oximoron) pretty often, so we could get a couple of buddies and head out that way. i admire your courage to do this. however, like others have mentioned, there is going to be a lot of obstacles to avoid, so take it slowly and make sure youve got everything together before you commit. BTW, have a great time  :ride: .
I sure expect a whole lot of obstacles. That is why I'm starting to plan things right away! The biggest obstacle is money. If we can save up enough for this trip, we'll have a blast!
