I have acess to a sound meter For the next 2 hours and just out of curiosity was wondering how the AMA tests sound and if my '03 KX100 will meet the requirements... Thanks in advance!!!

So you could do it the correct way? Otherwise just put it behind your bike, I'm sure that's exactly what the technical standards call for LOL!

See grasshopper there is a saying Quality / Speed / Price pick two and sacrifice the third.

BTW, at idle I was 87 db, 1/3 throttle was 91 db, 1/2 was 93, and full throttle letting it rev up got to 110 db :whoa: However, I still pass AMA sound requirements :) Some sound tests show that pro motocross bikes can get up to 132 db at the dyno. FYI, I tested according to what I could find for free, which is testing at a 45 degree angle from the pipe from 50 cm away.

@Patman:Have you ever ridden at the Waco Eagles club?

Nope I leave that to my Amigo that shares my birthday, lives up there and plays guitar. I stick to the trees, creeks and rocks of Central Texas.

I thought Waco was considered Central Texas?

I consider Waco 1/2 way between Austin & Dallas.
