need to confirm year of my rmx

I copied down the vin number on my rmx250 and called the dealership. They told me it's a 98'.
I was checking out some pictures of other rmx's and all the 98's have a differant style fork than mine.
The vin is
js1pj91 a9n2100368

I'd really hate to figure out that I'm ordering stuff for the wrong year bike!

according to the number you posted its a '92.
The 10th digit represents the year

Is there no year written on the head tube/steering tube of the frame? Keep in mind its possible the forks were changed on your bike. Does your rmx have inverted or standard forks?

I had found out that on a 98' that there was very little interchangability with the rm's. Is that still the same with the 92'.
The first thing I'm looking for is a pipe.

In most of my exprience you can make it fit even if it dose not. But, i think the pipe will fit off of a 92 RM250.
