needle quick questions

i have read many threads and i am still confused.

is it true if i moving the needle clip up the bike will be leaner....... but the needle will be lower? please be clear(maybe i am not lol) cauz i have the carb appart now. thank you so much :rotfl:

right...a lower needle puts more of it (the needle) in the actual jet, thus blocking the flow of fuel---hence leaner.

yes, lowering the needle (raising the clip) will lean things out a touch,...

BTW, the clip positions are numbered from the blunt end: 1,2,3,4 etc., #1 being the most lean for that particular needle.
