New bike, never been ridden for 2 years!!!

I am looking at a new 2007 tt-r125e. It has never been ridden before, but it has sat in the show room for the last 2-3 years. The guy at the shop says that its fine for a bike to not be run for 2 or 3 years. But that can't be right. I would think that something would have to be bad about a bike sitting for that long.

I don't know a lot about engines, but it seems that a bike sitting for that long is bad.

So my question is.

IF a bike is from 2007, and has never been ridden, is that bad?
