I've got a 2003 CR500 and I think I may have a bad coil. I purchased a new one and the sparkplug cap comes separate.
If you look inside the plug end where the coil wire goes it has a pointy metalic shaft. So I guessed that you just put the wire in there and possibly it just locks in there with the point making the electrical contact with the wire. No, it doesn't lock it pulls right out but the point is centerd and does apparently make the electrical contact.
So, the question is do you need to crimp it and is there a special crimp device used or will anything do?
