Hey everyone.

I live in East Texas, and I'm new to the Dirt Bike thing. Just picked up a CRF450R, and looking forward to playing with it.

I am a former Superbike racer, now I'm trying to switch over to the dirt. If anyone is near me or wants to ride or teach me some things, let me know...

Welcome to DRN!

That's a heck of a bike to start your dirt career with :)
Some of your superbike experience will translate, but not as much as you might think.

My observations, dirt vs. street (understanding I've never been "fast" on either).
Fall off the street bike, road rash.
Fall off the dirt bike, broken bones.

Get to know the bike before messing with it, off the showroom floor a CRF450 is more bike than most can ever fully use.

LOL, thats pretty funny... Well, I tend to push things a bit, but I'll be sure to get used to it before i end up hurting myself, lol....

I raced on a CBR1000RR, then I got a good amount of help from Ducati.

I've been hurt worse racing than I have anything else. I got a bionic ankle and numerous broken bones to prove it.

I'm open to any and all advice you guys have for me.
