Although a bit south of you, check out the SoCal Wrecking Crew forum for opportunities to hook up with some fellow DRNers there in California. They have been known to venture north for the Reno ride in February and opportunities to ride during the heat of the summer.

Manteca is right by Modesto! There's quite few places to ride within a 2-3 hour radius. Too bad I didn't see this post before the Kennedy Meadows ride, it was so much fun and you would have met a bunch of DRN folks.
