Well, I'm a fairly expereinced roadbike rider but got into dirtbikes a year or so ago - no comparison - dirtbikes are awesome and very addictive.
I'm learning to jump in the desert and local MX track and generally getting on OK but every now and then I'll hit the jump and the bike will go sideways/step out quite badly - mostly I can recover the bike but crashed out this weekend when it stepped out. Most of the time the rear end will step out to the left, so maybe it's something I'm doing with weighting the left footpeg incorrectly?.
How do I avoid the bike stepping out, and how do I recover the bike once it does this? I realise the face of the jump is rutted and hitting these does often cause the bike to step out - I would just like to learn to control this a bit more and also build confidence.
Most of the time when I hit the table top with a harder more consistent face I have no problems and have even cleared it on once occasion.
thanks for any tips in advance.
