just goes to show that it is in the eye of the beholder. of the series of shots with the blown out street lights, i think the original is the best. the color the street lights bring to the building really give the picture a lot of depth and vibrance.
if you wanted to tone down that side of the pic, could you use a graduated nd filter turned on it's side?
for the street shot with the sky in the middle.....that looks like a "take 2 on a tripod and merge later" kind of thing.
