Well I did it...fried my clutch. We JUST did the top-end, broke it in Thursday night and raced Sunday. Well went to ride at a private track yesterday, shifted into 2nd and nothing. The bike just revved higher...tried 3rd same thing :bang: Brought it to Phil and told him...he wasn't too happy. Mostly because it was fine and suddenly I have no clutch. So loaded it back up and we took turns on Phil's bike. He slides out in a turn and his shifter got screwed up. I guess the spline is stripped. So I can't go and he can't shift...we need new bikes :(

So I was hoping this had something to do with my shifting issues on Sunday...but I guess it doesn't. I kept hitting neutral and was in a gear higher than I wanted a lot...so it was just me being blonde or something.

Anyway...
We had planned on racing Muskegon fair on Sunday. I'm thinking that's not going to happen.

So when you guys go ride this weekend will someone take an extra loop or lap for us? We'd greatly appreciate it :)

lol..nope didn't wreck that one. I have come to the conclusion that it is true Honda 50 motors are in fact indestructible. My brother and I have hammered on those things and have not broke them, yet!

FORTYPLUS, Muskegon SJO races are this Saturday and Sunday. Saturday races start at 7 and Sunday they start at 5. The fairgrounds are East on Sherman. Follow it until you hit the fairgrounds on the South side of the rode. I hope that's right..I'm sure someone will correct me if I am wrong! I don't think the fair is going on though. SJO Is just having races.

So I no longer bend bars or break levers. I now fry clutches and blow oil seals.

hmm...I thought you could take Sherman and follow it all the way down? It's been a couple of years since I have been there. You are probably right though. I get lost easily, lol

Well. I drive by sherman everyday - dalton to grand haven and home. My buddy told me SJO raced at the muskegon fairgrounds but i never found out where. I drove down east and nada. I was thinking bout going for somethin to do this weekend, Prolly won't go riding so i'll be bored. I guess I'll look around again tommorow for it. BTW, the races at Grattan were pretty cool. It was loaded with riders. My kid trophied in the 250C. He raced without a crash so no wrenching for me, yahoo! Last time he rode he smashed a radiator, broke a titanium peg, blah, blah. He may go again for the next race, 15 and 16 Oct I think. Anyhow, thanks.

BTW, that seat fit the other kids old bike purty good, what a deal! Thanks again, see ya around.

lol, yes we did . When we did the top end we did switch the tranny oil. We had always used type-f and then when the top end was apart we cleaned everything up and put Spectro in. When we popped the cover off on Tuesday the oil was extremely black and smelled fried...

What I don't understand is the bike on Thursday night (when I broke the new top-end in) it was shifting nice and smooth...Sunday seeemed to have issues. Seemed to always be a gear higher and hit neutral quite a few times...Well Phil said it sounded like I was a gear too high in the turns. I know I shifted down to 2nd for them. Which is what I always use...I rarely use 1st. He said it sounded high..maybe it started to slip Sunday. First moto I didn't really have any problems, it was 2nd moto those problems started...then Tuesday nothing no clutch :(

I need to go back to bending bars and breaking levers...I'm not liking frying the clutch and blowing and oil seal...

YAY my clutch parts arrived today!! So Phil and I have a project tonight!!! Still no racing though :( Parts still cost a lot of money, even if your hubby (or whoever) works at a bike shop...
