Wondering how the trail system is around Rutherfordton, North Carolina, its west of Charlotte by the mountains. I'm sure there is riding opportunities, but I'd like to know how good they are. Also are there any enduros or hare scrambles held aroud there.

Check out ncdirtrider.com they have some links to different riding areas and race events.

Brown Mountain and Brushymountain are both good places to ride. Brown Mountain is public and cost $5.00 per day. Brushy Mountain is private and is around $20.00.

Brushy Mountain is in Taylorsville which is close to Boone and Brown Mountain is near Morganton which is not far from Boone. Not that far from Charlotte either.

Check out bmmspark.com for the Brushy Mountain web site. Brushy Mountain was shown in Rev Magazine as #1 off-road area in U.S. Don't know what criteria they used but it is a good place to ride. Trail are well maintained.
