I just picked up a barely used 05 CRF 450. The guy I bought it from put a DID O-ring chain on it. It appears that the chain may be rubbing against the case a bit. One of my buddies said that he has seen a recommendation of adding a small spacer to the inside of the front sprocket so the o-ring chain won't rub on this bike.
Have any of you heard of this? Where do I get the spacer?
The chain will eat very little into the case. I would suggest you dremel out the area, or simply let it wear, before you mount up a spacer. The spacer works, but it also sets your sprockets at a skew.
Thanks for the feedback. I ordered the fastway spacer and got it yesterday. It is very thin and I doubt it will change the allignment with the rear enough to make a difference... besides, I am very dangerous with a dremmel.
