octane booster in 426?

hello my friend just got a 426 and he said he was going to put octain booster in his gas.will this do anything bad?I have heard people say it can be bad on 2 strokes but what about 4?

Wizard-I'll give you the short version here. If you want to raise the octane just a bit and stop detonation, this is an economical way to go. But using too much booster will flatten the throttle response and he will loose the snappiness of the acceleration. If it's not detonating on pump gas, I wouldn't waste my money on it.

If you want more info, do a search and use "octane booster" and "race gas" as the keywords and you will get a bunch of threads to read through with some great information and also a lot of myth debunking.
