1) your physical size (both height and weight are important)
About 5'8" and say 180-185ish with gear.
2) How physical / aggressive are you ?
Scale of 1-10 I'd give myself a 6-7 on aggressiveness on a bike, I stay within my limits and let them slowly increase as I improve.
3) what do you plan to ride- MX/SX tracks, woods, fields with friends or ?????
Probably about 70% woods/trails and 30% practice MX days.
4) Do you have any riding experience?
Around 1yr on a SV-650S on the street, 6 months on a KDX200, and a couple months each on a KLX300 and a bored out XR250.
5) Do you think you will race ?
Possibly a harescramble or two
6) Are you mechanically inclined and will you be doing your own bike work?
For the most part, yes.
7) Do YOU have a preferance to a brand/ motor choice (2 or 4 stroke)?
Prefer 4 stroke.
8) Do you have a dealer close by your home that you might use and what brand(s) does he carry?
Yes to all brands- Yamaha, Kawasaki, Suzuki, KTM
9) How much do you plan to spend on a bike?
Planning on going used and hoping to stay around ~$2,000, but not set at that limit. I've bought new before and I don't want to take that hit in value so drastically on a toy.
10) anything else that you think would help form an opinion
The KDX was fun, but the suspension was lacking and I didn't so much like the 2 stroke. KLX seems like a bit of a heavy turd to maneuver and such. XR250 I had was a blast, bored out to 280cc with inverted forks and other mods. If I found another in the same condition I'd jump on it, but I'm wondering what other options may be out there and open to all suggestions.
Edit: I want E-Start.
