I haven't searched on the subject, but I am sure it's been talked about. The lack of off road bike racing. I would rather watch MX and SX over the superbowl. Well, I hate football, so that's an easy one for me to say.

Anyway, it seems that ESPN2 is the only network to cover any AMA MX and SX.

ESPN2 considers MX and SX bottom of the barrel sports since they let just about everything have higher priority over them.

It is nice that their showing SX the next day, but still, how about some pre 2000 old races? How about a marathon of MX and SX? On my dish network channel guide, there's like another ESPN2 channel that is never showing anything.

The times listed in the AMA magazine are never right either. I would have to think it's because ESPN2 is pushing the schedule around due to bowling, tennis, or college gymnastics(all of which I hate, but respect).

I guess my question is this:
What do you guys do to see more of these awesome sports on TV? I would pay for pay per view. I like watching these sports more than anything (well, about even with MMA).

How about DVD's? Any recommendations on good DVD's to buy? I would kill for a 4-disc set of any one season.

ESPN2 has been discussed here at great lengths in the past. A lot of people, including myself, share your concerns.

As far as DVD's go, look for Bar-to-Bar for Supercross and The Great Outdoors for Nationals. You won't get to see every single lap from every single race, but they're both pretty good and giving a nice overview of what happened in the previous season. I just picked up Bar-to-Bar for the 2004 Supercross season but I haven't watched it yet

A lot of people do a lot of complaining about ESPN. While I would love to live coverage of the sport it is probably a few years out yet. Do you think more people will watch the supercross monday night than they would if it aired during the superbowl? A couple weeks ago they they aired the supercross later than normal I thought it was great that they scheduled it around other major sporting events. If they did not care about supercross at all then they would air it during the superbowl when next to nobody would watch it. I don't think ESPN gives this sport the credit it deserves, but they give it more credit then a lot of people think........Just my 2 cents

The ESPN2 website calander has been the most accurate, all of the other posts/sites are usually off from the trickle down effect. Even so, other sports, such as team jump roping, usually take higher precedence than SC or MC, and usually will bump SC and MC out entirely. Someday, like the golf channel, there will be a MC channel, devoted to everything 2 wheel (I hope) 24/7. That's what we need. Then maybe they can run some vintage races from the 60's-the 90's and even some newer ones. I used to watch some on WW of Sports in the 70's. The race film is out there, just needs to be dusted off. There is a major move in the two wheeled world so the 24/7 channel will be full of one-off choppers and that following too. A good mix of road, off-road, international, tech shows, hill, ice, mini, oh my, they could fill it I think. Of course it would be a haven for advertisers also, good fillers and it would help pay the bills. That's what we need.

We all should voice our opinions to the ESPN2. I have as well as including links to some threads. If alot of us voiced our conserns to ESPN2 they might take notice. Perhaps we might even get to see RC interveiwed after winning.

If you recall Anaheim 1, they didn't show RC being interviewed. The double-dutch speed jump rope contest was
more important.

I have OLN and Speed channels so I usually watch stuff that comes on there. Its not alot as its pretty current but its better than nothing. OLN plays DirtRider TV, Arenacross and FMX. Speed has got FIM World GP MX on twice a week, Canadian MX, and Two Wheel Tuesday. Speed covers other stuff like GNCC's or Baja Races. Even Dakar has been shown. ATV stuff too if ya like that. ESPN2 isn't the channel to depend on for MX/SX stuff so I got Speed Channel.

SuperMoto has also been shown reguarly (can't remember channel).

I have all the channels you refer to on my satellite. Do you happen to have a list or anything you can post to give me an idea of what channel shows what and when?

Thanks!

I use the DVR provided by Comcast (our local cable) and type in Motocross and set it to record anything that comes on for 3 weeks. Don't actually use a TV Guide or website to find out when they are on.
