Does anyone from southeast Michigan remember a (State?) riding area that was near Pinckney, MI some thirty years ago? It was a very hilly area with a gravel type of soil. There was a large parking lot adjacent to the road, and the entrance to the riding area was off to the left. Sorry, I know that is not much information, but that is all that I can remember (only went there once with some people who had ATVs). I am sure that it was closed years ago to motorized recreation. Thanks.

I rode there back in the 70's on my 125 Elsinore! As I recall, you paid $5 to ride and it was managed by the state. Unfortunately due to significant brain cell damage over the years, I thought it was closer to Brighton what eventually became Mustang Acres.

Anybody else?

what I remeber was North of Chelsea. Called Keezers Hills & Duffy's. It's now part of the Potawatomi trail system, which parts of you can mountain bike on.

I snowboard at Keezers, they have a wicked back bowl.

Thanks, guys. 70 marlin, any thoughts as to where the old riding area is located on the Potawatomi trail system? I would like to do some hiking in that area.

here
The portion that I’m talking about is at the eastern end of the trail. It's been years since I’ve been out there. Go north out of Chelsea and turn right on waterloo rd. and the old gravel pit are in that area(keezers hills) for Duffy’s lake go north out of Chelsea turn right on wernker rd go about 4 miles to lindy rd turn left go down what look like a fire rd your there. I think they have it gated off now?
