Older rider, looking for a newer Bike

Hi. Please help me pick my next bike. Currently I have a 83 KDX 250. It was my starter bike but I'm looking for something newer and electric start. I'm very mechanically inclined.

6'1 250lbs age 37
Riding Environment: Narly woods, trail riding, hills.
Riding Skill: non aggressive, above beginner(Intermediet?)

Top priority over everything is reliability.
Power: 250cc 2 stroke seems "just right" but a 4 stroke equivalent would work for me. Nothing less than that though.
Electric start.
Price range around 3K
