One of my friends was telling me the other day that he heard the older the bike, the higher the octane requirements. I just wanted to know if this was true or not as I have an 82' RM 125 that will be running regular pump gas because my dads too cheap and if I offer to pay for it he gets mad anyways.

Does it run bad on pump gas?

That doesn't make much sense to me since they had crappier fuel back then and the bikes ran just fine. I would just run 93, unless of course it ran bad on pump gas. And in that situation i would try 110.

They had MUCH BETTER fuel back before the EPA put reformulation standards in place.
