Are people still riding there? Are you talking about the area right by the fence off of 805 and 905? Pretty fun but I think they're really cracking down on riders there. Too bad cause it's a fun local place to ride.

Hey fng, I`d love to do that ride but I don`t normally get Fridays off.
I`ve been thinking about taking off the 10th for the Coral Canyon run if there`ll be folks out there to do some rides with before it gets too late in the day. I`ll have to check out Otay on the weekend sometime.

Cool. Don't think I've heard of that place. So where exactly do you stage? It takes me a little under 1 1/2 hours to get to Corral Canyon from Carlsbad. How long do you think it would take me to this place?

An hour maybe according to Yahoo Maps. I pulled this off a Geo Caching web site.

Maybe someone can confirm these directions, this is what I'm gonna follow

From Otay Mesa: Take 905 to Old Otay Mesa Rd. At the end of that road turn left on Alta. Just before a 40-MPH curve sign turn right into a dirt driveway. In order to avoid driving across the property of a nearby ranch house take an immediate left turn. Follow this road north until another east-west road appears. Turn Right. Now you should be headed for the Steel Power Line and the entrance to the Otay Truck Trail

Awesome. The now illegal riding just south of the airport down there isn't too far from the area you're talking about. Correct? So you're right that it's around an hour drive for me. You'll have to post a ride report.

i *think* i know where O.T.T it's located, i used to stage at the end of otay mesa rd ( where the road makes a sharp left to go to the prison) near some big trees.
when i was there last year a section (maybe all) of the trail to the top of the mountain was blacktopped. im not sure if this is the miniwana trail or the Otay Truck Trail???

So, I'm wondering if this thing is still happening??? From the other site, it seems like it may be a no-goer. Maybe just too much chaos with the holidays... I'm still up for riding someplace tomorrow, but I haven't loaded my bike or anything. If anyone has any suggestions, call me in the morning - 760-525-2698; my phone will wake me up and I'll get rolling!
