Definetly dont trade your bike. Paintball will consume tons of money and you won't ever get any of it back. I used to play for years and spent countless of hundreds of dollars, and will get nothing back (cept a few years of great memories) To me everything was worth it, because I met some great friends doing it. The paint-balls occasionally hurt, doesnt matter what gun its from. You can shoot 300 fps from a $30 Talon just as easily as you can from a $2000 gun. It also depends on the brand of paint used. Brass Eagle paint you barely even feel hit. (THats if it actually makes it out of the barrel) Proball Marbelizer hurts at close range, but doesnt break on the people too easily. And unless your planning on doing pro tournaments SICC you don't need that gun. I could go out with my stock $100 Stingray 2 and wreck sh#@ up just as easily than playing with my Tippmann Model 98 with Expansion Chamber, Bottom Line, View Loader revolution with a 14" J&J ceramic barrel. You can still sell your bike for some money in a few years.

Hey, SpeedyManiac, do you get cabelas? Look in there in the paintball section for the PMI blackmaxx i think the gun is like 70 bucks, and with like all the stuff u need i think it is like 110 or so, that is about the best deal you can get, but i know if you look online for the same gun, it is called the PMI Trracer S/A it is still the same price, just check all over the internet, Or i mean if you want to get serious try a Tippmann model 98, or the tippmann model 98 custom, the are the same gun, and the same price, but the custom is eisier to Customize or pimp out, it will set you back abou $125, but it is probably one of the best guns under $300. It is what i have (and i'm not just saying that because i have it) go to PBREVIEW.com and check out the reviews for it, i bet the rating for it is between 9.5 and 9.9 on a scale of 1 to 10, but the PMI Trracer S/A is also an excellent gun to...because of its ability to feild strip easily, so just do some research online, but try what i said first, you wont be dissipointed. If you need anymore questions answered, then e-mail me at [email protected], cya later -Nick

Speedy,

You can get a refurbished (same as new in my opinion), Raptor Xtreme on e-bay for between $75 and $90

Of course, you'll still need all the extras like Co2 and mask and all.
I'll give you fair warning, if you ge into paintball, you're getting into one of the most expensive sports there are. Paintballs cost alot, field fees cost alot, it ALL costs alot.

I got smoked once by one of the pro kids in my elbow, and that stung like a b**ch.

If they were following the rules, their guns shouldn't feel any different than a stingray. You're supposed to set the velocity on the chronograph before playing, so these kids must have been shooting "hot." The advantage to real expensive guns like angels and shockers is in how accurate and consistent they shoot, plus they can shoot up to 15 balls per second! Another big plus about these guns is that they are nitrgoen powered (nitrogen is more consistent, and CO2 doesn't work right in cold weather.)
