Days Two and Three 11/05/03 Wow it is getting tougher and tougher to get online. Paul is doing great, I have spent most of the days in Park Ferme. Scott and I are up at 5:30 am and to the pits by 6ish. We help unload the container and haul all needed supplies to the morning work area. We get all the riders out and then haul all the supplies back to the container. Then we set up for the end of day when the riders come in this is usually done by 10amish. We then take a little break, today we ended up taking a nap. We both are sweating through 2 sets of clothes a day it is so bloody hot and muggy. We go back to the pits around noon and get ready for the first rider usually about 1ish. then we kick ass for the next 2-3 hours until all tools and supplies are packed back in the container. Day two brought sadness to the Great Britton riders, they had rider Matt Bowden die of a heart attack on the trail, he was 30 yrs old. Our guys have all said it is the most dangerous 6 days they have ever seen, the speeds are very high and spectators mostly kids are standing within inches of the riders as they pass. Most want a high five at 50MPH yeah right. Day 3 was the same course as day two, except they pushed up the riders to condense the field. Paul started about 7 minutes earlier today. He had another great day. See you all in a week. Beth
