You can get CR250, KX250, YZ250, RM250. But you said that you love Kawasaki, then buy a KX250, there is not bare differences between these bikes. As people always say, get the newest bike you can..

Just because a bike is newer doesnt mean its better, you will need to set whatever bike up you get to your standards. I see guys racing late 90's early 2k's locally and just flat out haul. I guess its a piece of mind though to have the newest possible.

Condition of the bike is more imprtant than age. Are you ready to step up to the 250 class? Can you race a 144 in the 125 class? If so why not do a 144 kit on the bike you have now? Put your money into the suspension, engine, and getting it all freshened up and set up for you. You may end up with a bike that fits you and your ability better. Just a suggestion.

yea but my kx is an 2002.. 5 years already. I have a pro-tech suspention. I would like to race in 125 because i feel more secure. I would also like to transplant an 144 on my bike but i think that is would be a wast since it is old and may change it in a few years anyways!! What do you think?

Patchy_125, i think you have a soild ride to start with. Try a big bore kit form Eric Gorr (he is cheap and good) to bump it up to 144 and mabe folwed buy some head shaving and porting for racing. Then a pipe that suits your style best and some new bushings and bearings should freshen up the bike for racing. As for the rules it sounds like they would rahter keep it the way it is to make it fair.

Patchy_125, the 2006 KX125 was its last year in Canada. Kawasaki Did not think there was enough sales in Canada. Also, make sure you buy a 2 stroke befor 2010 because of then no 2 stroke engines (chain saws, dirt bikes, boat engines) will not be alowed in Canada unless it is under 100CCs. Yamaha and KTM are making the best 125s right now and seem to be holdign on to them the longest and putting money into updatting them.
