A long time ago I saw an article on removing scratches from your fenders by using a heat gun. I decided to give it a try, but I'm less than thrilled with the results.
First, I cleaned the area. Then I sanded the scratches down with fine sand paper to remove plastic burs. Then I used a heat gun to cautiously heat the area. The scratches did disappear. Everything worked smoothly as planned until......
The plastic did not return to it's original color after it cooled. The scatches are mostly gone and the fender looks great, except, now the finish is dulled. Is there something I can put on it to bring back the shine? Would a wax or plastic cleaner do the trick?
