I don't know if this is the correct location for this, so if it isn't, mods please relocate. I have a plastic gas tank that has a lot of "dead plastic" on it. The white stuff that will flake off if you scrape it. Has anyone come up with a foolproof way to make these tanks look new? I have heard of wet sanding them with fine sandpaper. Has anyone ever tried this? If so, what grit did you use? Any help will be appreciated. Trying to make this little bike look like new.

i have a white plastic tank that is all brown and yucky looking due to fuel stains. if that is what you have,, forget it, and just get a new tank, ive tried sanding, bleaching, painting with all kinds of paints, stickers, and nothing really works...its easier to just spend 170 bux at www.clarkemfg.com
