I have a '97 CR250, I mostly play ride in the AZ desert,
at times I go up to the mountains. Question is my bike runs good but rich in the desert. I run a br8eg. At altitude I have alittle hesitation. Now for play riding, not alot of WFO. Would a hotter plug in the mountains help? I know ideally I should rejet, but my skills are not quite to level yet.

Any suggestions would be appreciated

Thanks

I doubt the hotter plug will help anything except for maybe plug fouling. If throttle responce is your problem changing altitude, only jetting correctly will cure it

Depending on how high the mountians are, you will never get the same performance that you have at the lower altitudes, even if you rejet. There is less oxygen up there and you'd need to lean the carb to make it run OK. Overall there is less gas getting into the engine and that equals less power. :(
